Basically I<br \/>\njust plugged things in, clicked through a few screens, and everything worked.  The hardest<br \/>\npart was figuring out how the motherboard fit into the chassis.<br \/>\n(<a href=\"\/Pat\/\" class=BLUENAV title=\"the most dangerous man in Silicon Valley\">Pat<\/a> and I scratched our heads over all those metal widgets for a couple of hours,<br \/>\nto be sure.)\n<\/p>\n<p>\nBut everything else was idiot-proof.  You couldn&#8217;t even plug anything in backwards.<br \/>\nIt was great.  We were up and running<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.blizzard.com\/starcraft\/\" class=BLUENAV title=\"I Live For The Swarm!\">Starcraft<\/a> in no time.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nI had heard that in the bad old days, building a computer was<br \/>\ndifficult.  For Serious Enthusiasts Only.  But along came standards.  Plug &#8216;N Play, USB,<br \/>\n huzzah!\n<\/p>\n<p>\nThings seemed to be working reasonably well three years ago.  I assumed things<br \/>\nwould be the same today.
