Sometimes he had to reach a bit.<br \/>\nTwenty-three:  &#8220;A prime number&#8230; and you won&#8217;t be prime again for six more<br \/>\nyears!&#8221;\n<\/p>\n<p>\nLast year was a bit tough.  To get anything significant for twenty-six, you have<br \/>\nto turn to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.inner.org\/gematria\/gemfull.htm\" class=BLUENAV title=\"intro to Kabbalistic numerology\">Gematria<\/a>,<br \/>\nthe ancient art of Hebrew numerology.  Twenty-six figures<br \/>\nprominently throughout the Torah:  among other things, it&#8217;s the numerical<br \/>\nrepresentation of the name of God (YAHWEH), the number of generations from Adam<br \/>\nto Moses, and the number of lines that it takes to list the Ten Commandments in the<br \/>\nTorah (I bet you thought it was ten).\n<\/p>\n<p>\nWell, this year Dad didn&#8217;t have to work too hard.  &#8220;Three cubed!&#8221;  I was a bit<br \/>\nconcerned about <em>next<\/em> year, until my cousin pointed out that<br \/>\ntwenty-eight is one of those rare<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.utm.edu\/research\/primes\/glossary\/PerfectNumber.html\" class=BLUENAV title=\"sum of the prime factors = the number itself\">perfect numbers<\/a>,<br \/>\nthe next one being 496.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nA perfect number!
